21st March - always a big day

So, today I turned 61. It's pretty scary. I now understand when people complain about their aching joints. My day started with a visit to the dentist. I now have a wonderful crown with an attached bridge. Teeth that will outlast me! Celebratory dinner at The Washie with Chris and Jerry. Stocko  fun. What could be better?

This date is always a bit emotional as I relive, in startling clarity, the events which unfolded sixteen years ago after 4.30 pm, when Bernie  was hit by the car as he crossed the road outside school. When he and Jacqueline rang me me tonight on their way home from work, caught in a traffic jam on the Anzac Bridge, the sound of their voices (as they argued about what they would do for their dinner ) brought tears to my eyes! Enough sloppiness!!!

First thing this morning, Lester signed off on our nine solar panels. I feel very pleased that we have fought through with these. In fact, for an inner city apartment, I think we are quite Green. We have; solar hot water, solar panels, insulation in roof, green paint, vertura affect from  louvres and sky roof, ceiling fan, outdoor shading.

Today, not much happened on the house because the floor was coated with a layer of cementy stuff, to level it, before the carpet goes down tomorrow. Before that happened, the fellow from the glass place put the brushed aluminium bits in place to hold the glass on the Juliet Balcony. Lester went up and took a couple of photos at the end of the day.
I spent several hours on the phone this afternoon, engaging with machines from Energy Australia, Telstra, AGL and Foxtel; all telling me that they valued my call, very much,  and would I stay on line to answer a questionaire about their service?  Kidding??? Machines are quite efficient, however, as I managed to transfer these services quite  easily.

The photos today are a bit time-travelly. These are the photos of the process that Greg took whilst we were away. There are a couple of the new concrete floor, taken today.
