Greg excelled at the things he executes perfectly: the details. (Is this the time and place for a Greg Story??? Yep!) Greg has a really straight eye. He cannot stand it when edges are uneven or unbalanced. In Stockton several years ago, he had to empty out the panty to paint the interior. He replaced the contents in the best and most organised manner, according to height. His neatness and organisational ability was so commendable that I have wanted him to come back to sort out the pantry, every year since. Of course, I am so loose, that I don't even expect edges to meet and not bow, or notice that paintings hang lower on one side than the other. So, today, Greg has bevelled off the skirting boards into neat little Aztec temples. He has such an eye for detail and finishing; realy, he probably should have been a designer, or an industrial designer.
Lyndal and I met up again to finalise the colours and curtains. The "Moroccan-style" garden has been quite intriguing for her too. (We are both awake at night painting planter boxes various colours from the Moroccan palate.) Once again Porters Paints and their various lime, stone and rust finishes are capturing all of my interest.
Steve spent a large proportion of the day finding a "water feature". It is funny, but I think this is going to be a really important part of the whole place.
I have new information on life at the top of town. Apparently there is an organic co-op market which runs out of Thorn Street every Tuesday evening. There is also a Community Garden at the end of the steps on Zaara Street. It may have a communal compost - must investigate.
